RE: Tire rotation

Thanks everyone for great replies.
Sully..I will definately check the mileage at the end of 2009, and if it reaches the 33,000 mark, have them checked.
But actually we logged the 22,000miles in 15 monthes, 16 trips.
And thats not going anywhere for 8 weeks after we brought it home!
My husband fell off the RV roof 3 days after we arrived home with it and broke 11 facial bones. Guess we are just determined to use it!!
WTD..we also have a tire monitoring system so that just adds to the time involved.

Tire rotation

We have a 2007 39 ft. Class A motorhome that has 22.5 R tires, that we purchased in July of 2007. So far we have put 22,000 miles on it.
My question is: do we need to rotate the tires?
We asked a RV repair place today and they said no, and the tire dealer in town said no also, because the tires on the back wear differently than the front. There are dual tires in the back.
Does anyone get their tires rotated?
It does not say anything in our instruction manuals regarding this.
Thanks,

RE: What breed of dog is that?

Hey Snobunnie..I have a havanese too! And I knoe exactly what you are saying.
"Hes one of those designer dogs right?"
"Gee, I never saw a bischon frise black and white before!"
"it's part poodle, and what else?"
Yes, it can go on and on for dog owners that don't have "popular" breeds.
But that may be why we chose them?

RE: Sad, sad day for my DW and me

So sorry for your loss. I heard that when we die, or pets are waiting at the gate to meet us. But it certainly is sad now. My heart goes out to you both.

American Music Theatre Christmas Show

Currently have res. to stay at the Old Mill Stream Campground and go to the Christmas Show at the American Music Theatre.
Have never been to either.
I know they are close together, but when I called for tickets to the Christmas Show, she said I should arrive an hour and 45 minutes early to be able to park. Seems excessive to me.
I know she should know, but does anyone have experience?
Maybe I can walk to the show from the campground??
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Sue

RE: Considering purchase of Damon Challenger

I have a 2007 Damon, but it is a DP.
We have been very happy with it, and put more than 20,000 miles on it in just over one year. Not full timing, just happily RVing.
We have had a few problems, not mechanical, that needed to be repaired, and found the Damon repair factory in Elkart, Indiana really great to work with.
Would not hesitate to purchase another.

RE: GRANDPARENTS! My dilemma!!!!!!!!

If the parents don't want to know the sex of the baby, then no problem you won't know either. If they know you are bound to find out too. Hard to keep things that exciting a secret!
My son and his wife chose not to know, so we were surprised with a granddaughter.
We will hopefully be surprised April 2009 with another healthy baby.

RE: french door refridgerators

I have a french door ref. too and absolutely love it.
The bottom freezer has a bin that slides out, and a shelf that slides out also. Not hard to find anything in it at all.
And like the others have said everything you use the most is at eye level and easy to see. And the shelves are long too.
Good choice.

RE: 2009 Balloon Fiesta Albuquerque

We were there this year and had a blast. I stayed in the VIP area, which did not have electric, or water, but passes for each day were included. Normally the tickets are $6 for each entry, whether be am or pm activity.
It is also close enough to walk to the launch field, and the vendor area, and the balloon museum, which I really liked.
We arrived on the Friday before the opening ceremonies on Sat the 3rd.
We saw Saturday am festivities, but the Saturday night balloon glow was cancelled due to weather. They only have fireworks on the weekend,so did have them Saturday night. Sunday am launch was also cancelled, but PM activities were a go. On Monday, Tues and Wed, they usually just have the am stuff.
However there was a balloon race on Monday evening, and that was fun to watch them take off at night.
Also, in the VIP area, we were lucky enough to have the balloons pass right over our RV 2 mornings in a row..and we helped some of the balloons land in the empty lot across from us.
I did hear the busiest time is the 2nd weekend..but if we went then some of the balloons would not have landed right by us.It was really alot of fun.
You can PM me if theres anything else.
BTW, I made my res. in Feb. for the following Oct. balloon fiesta, and the Presidents compound was sold out, and the Premium also. So I didn't have much of a choice, but was very happy where I was.
It really is something to see.

RE: North Florida Recommendation

Thanks everyone for all your input.
What great choices! I'm always glad to hear what everyone likes. I have been looking into all the suggestions. It seems like now I'll need longer than a week!
Anyway, just thought it would be great for a change of pace from the LOng Island, NY weather.
All suggestions are appreciated, whether its for chiller or warmer weather.
Thanks again, all are appreciated!

North Florida Recommendation

Thinking of heading down to Florida just for a week this Jan/Feb.
Does anyone have suggestions on where to stay?
Will not have kids with us so don't need alot of kids activities, just want something where we can have a fire at night, relax and do a little sightseeing from there.
I am coming from New York, so even in Southern South Carolina would be okay. Just looking for a little warmer weather than here.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Tampa RV Show 2009

Thinking of heading down in mid January for the RV Show in Tampa. Have never been to that one before, so was wondering if it would be worth braving the weather from NY to FLa.
I am not looking to buy a new MH, just like to see what they have and MAYBE get a Satellite Dish install.
Opinions?
Thanks, Sue

RE: New RV garage

HDRider44....what a great set-up!! I am so glad I didn't see this thread till today, so I could see the outcome right away instead of waiting for its completion!
That is something i would love to do someday..although I am "land-locked" on LI right now. No room for that here unless I went way out further on the Island.
Best of luck with your new home and of course the "garage".
Garage envy is most certainly it!

RE: Using dryer while driving

Thanks Chief45, bldrbuck and Deen.....after the first 2 posts thought I'd go for it, but decided stay on the side of caution after your post Deen.
Not that important to me. I just like to throw my towels in the dryer after taking a shower in the morning, and don't have time to do that if we're taking off right away. Finds it keeps some of the dampness out of the MH.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
